Hopf, Judith
Judith Hopf was born in 1969 in Karlsruhe. From 1990 to 1992 she studied sculpture and painting at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Bremen and from 1993 to 1997 art at the Universität der Künste in Berlin. She works with the media of video, film, drawing, performance, and installation to examine seemingly self-evident communication forms, querying the methods of political and artistic mediation, not just in her works but also in theoretical texts. From 2003 to 2005 she was a member of the video group “Team Ping Pong”.
Between 2001 and 2003 Judith Hopf was visiting lecturer at the Merz Academy Stuttgart, and from 2003 to 2005 visiting professor for sculpture and video art at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee.
Judith Hopf lives in Berlin and her work has been shown in numerous international solo and group exhibitions.
