Kopaczewski, Grzegorz
Grzegorz Kopaczewski was born in1977 and is a graduate of the School of Social Sciences at the University of Silesia in Katowice.
He works as a feature writer at “Ultramaryna”, a cultural magazine for Upper Silesia. He became well known in Poland through his debut as a writer “Global Nation. Obrazki z czasów popkultury” [Global Nation. Images from Times of Popular Culture; Czarne Publishers, Wołowiec 2004]. The book tells the story of an international group of young people on the narrow ridge between adolescence and adulthood who live together in London and try to find their own way.
Currently Kopaczewski is working on an altogether different book. Under the title “Huta” he is developing a multi-layered novel with the ever-recurring debate about scientific progress at its centre.
Grzegorz Kopaczewski lives in Chorzów. He is an avowed fan of the local football club Ruch Chorzów and a member of the club magazine’s permanent staff.
